For the Month of October to support Mental Health awareness Andrea O’Neill is offering everyone 45 minute Acupuncture Treatments for just $50.

Last week we had World Mental Health Day a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy. Mental health is the state of well-being in which every individual with their own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and is able to make a contribution to their community.

Nearly half of all Australians (45%) will experience some form of mental illness during their lifetime, and those that don’t will most likely know someone that does. But there’s still a lot of stigma and confusion around the topic and that’s where learning and growing comes in.

It’s important to make sure that as many people as possible know what mental illness looks like and what can be done to treat it – even if it’s not an issue for you right now, it might be one day, either for you or someone you know.

Acupuncture helps restore the body’s normal function by bringing the body back in to balance.
According to Chinese Medical theory, mental illness occurs when there is imbalance within the body.  Imbalance can come from an excess or deficiency of yin and yang that disrupts the flow of qi or energy through the body.

Oriental Medicine does not recognize any mental disorder as one particular syndrome. Instead, it aims to treat the specific symptoms that are unique to each individual using a variety of techniques such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, bodywork, lifestyle/dietary recommendations and energetic exercises to restore imbalances found in the body.
