Reflexology treatments can greatly reduce labour times for pregnant women? A study on 64 pregnant women found that the outcome on the effect on labour was outstanding. The majority of first-time mothers had labour times of just 5-6 hours (not bad, as text book average is 16-24 hours). The second stage of labour (that’s pushing the baby out) lasted an average of only 16 minutes, (compared to the text book expectancy of 1-2 hours). The Normal delivery rate was 89% – that’s way higher than Aussie rates. – More details on this 1992/3 London study with Dr Gowrie Motha, author of “The Gentle Birth Method” and Dr Jane McGrath. here:
Linda has been working with pregnant women for over 15years and is passionate about the benefits she has seen her clients receive. Linda has completed trainings in Maternity & Infertility Reflexology with Suzanne Enzer (author of ‘Maternity Reflexology’) and Dorthe Krogsgaard & Peter Lund Frandsen, of ‘Touchpoint’ Denmark, respectively.
Pregnant women undergo many physical and hormonal changes to cater for the growing foetus. This same study also showed reflexology helped women with those normal but annoying symptoms of pregnancy – Reflexology can help with nausea, backache, constipation, poor circulation and swollen ankles, high or low blood pressure, fatigue, headaches, anxiety and many other symptoms.
Treatments are especially useful towards the end of pregnancy in preparation for the birth. By relaxing the mother and stimulating certain reflexes, labour often starts and continues naturally.
Postnatally, reflexology is helpful in many areas and can help with breastfeeding; encouraging good flow, and helping with engorgement problems. It is particularly helpful with postnatal depression and can be very beneficial in dealing with fatigue, stress and anxiety issues.

“I started seeing Linda for weekly reflexology sessions about half way through my pregnancy. Each visit was absolute bliss – not only did it help keep any feet & ankle swelling at bay (which I knew I was prone to), it really assisted my overall well-being and stress levels. I drifted out of each session totally relaxed! Linda worked right up to my delivery date – helping to kick-start things once I was past my due date. My labour was only 3.5 hours (second baby) compared to 16.5 hours for my first. It was spontaneous, uncomplicated and without drugs. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Linda visited me in hospital after I gave birth and at home for more sessions which helped my feet and ankles which had swollen considerably after such a speedy delivery. I can’t praise Linda’s approach or technique highly enough. She is genuinely caring and the best in the business when it comes to reflexology. Every pregnant woman should be lucky enough to discover Linda and her incredible & highly effective approach – I now tell everyone about her! Reflexology made the world of difference to me as I know it can for others too. I can’t recommend Linda highly

“Thank you Linda for these beautiful experiences of total bliss you give me every time I walk into your sanctuary!
I started seeing Linda about 3 or 4 years ago when I had a really bad neck and shoulder pain and I was feeling anxious. Linda helped me relax and reflexology helped to get rid of my shoulder and neck pain.
When my partner and I decided to have a family I shared our plan with Linda and I was pregnant within a couple of months (both pregnancies). I think having regular reflexology sessions beforehand, proper nutrition and moderate exercise prepared my body for this new experience. Then I fell pregnant with my first baby and I used to see Linda regularly. Getting reflexology done during my pregnancies with Linda helped immensely by making my pregnancies more enjoyable and pretty straight-forward. My second baby was transverse at 37 weeks but with the help of Linda, she managed to get her into position.
I would highly recommend pregnancy reflexology with Linda to any expecting mothers. It is not only relaxing, it also makes you feel calm, in control and more connected with your baby. It is very exciting to feel baby moving in response to the massage.”
