When life feels good and things are going well, we tend to just accept and enjoy this state of being. But when we are provoked out of our comfort zones by deeply challenging experiences or encounters, it forces us to face what we do not like – but we are allowing into our life.

This type of provocation is when a situation does not align with what we value and it is a sign that things have to change soon, as painful as letting go or making changes can be.

Instead of accepting bad things as given, you can take action to bring happiness into your life with a tiny amount of planning. Make taking care of yourself a priority and start doing what you prefer, or even what you love, as often as you can. A few minutes to yourself in quiet or browsing a book you enjoy? Or, could you manage to take a relaxing walk outdoors at lunchtime, or even at sunrise before work? Could you take yourself to breakfast where there are no distractions and you can just enjoy a few moments without any drain on your energy? Write it in your diary to have soothing bath at the end of day, or cook a nourishing favourite meal.

Often, when feel down (our energy has been provoked and drained) the self-care may not be enough to bring the changes you want in your life. You might need more structured approach and as a Holistic Coach I know that in my own journey, and that of my clients’ most of us can’t go it alone. Change is often only achieved step by step, but I say hang in there because change is absolutely possible and all you have to do is allow it!

Reiki was originally founded in Japan, and it is a mind, body, spirit healing technique to reduce stress and anxiety and increase wellbeing.
