December is here—and with it twinkling lights, joyful gatherings, and challengingly, what one of our studio clan called ‘the acceleration into Christmas’

Fitting in all the parties, end-of-year deadlines, and Christmas preps, it’s no wonder our self-care routines tend to fall by the wayside. But here’s the thing:

taking care of yourself is the key to navigating any holiday madness.

It’s obvious but I need to write this anyway: When you’re running on empty, everything feels harder. The stress piles up, the fun fades, and that endless to-do list? It just feels heavier.

However, when your cup is full—when you’re rested, energized, and centered—you have what you need to conquer Christmas with greater ease. (And you’ll be better placed to do everything you do for all those people who are counting on you)

So how do you keep your cup full this season?

First you need to show up for yourself

Here are a few simple ideas with positive impact to make December feel a little more balanced:

1. Commit to Regular Movement

Exercise might be the last thing on your mind when you’re busy, but it’s one of the most effective ways to reset. Whether you’re powering through reformer to recharge or melting into a yin yoga pose to soothe holiday stress, movement helps your body and mind handle the hustle with grace.

2. Listen to What Your Body Needs

Some days, you need an energy boost. Other days, you need to hit pause. If you’re feeling wired or overwhelmed, yin yoga can be the perfect antidote—slow, restorative, and deeply calming. If you’re low on energy but still want to move, yoga or mat Pilates can help build strength and give you the momentum to power through the season.

3. Take Small Self-Care Breaks

Not every day will allow for a full fitness session—and that’s okay! Even five minutes of stretching or mindful breathing can be enough to reset your energy and clear your mind. Think of it as topping up your tank when you’re short on time.

4. Let Go of Perfection

This season doesn’t need to be perfect. What matters is the feeling behind what you are doing (hence the importance of showing up for yourself, and the small ways really do count). I say it often in class, No Self Care is EVER wasted. Whether it’s one class a week or just a moment to breathe deeply before diving back into your to-do list, every little bit of self-care counts.

So, here’s your gentle reminder: stay consistent, not perfect. This December, make your health and well-being a priority.

We’d love to see you on the mat this month—whether you’re here for a strengthening session, a restorative practice, or simply to soak in the good vibes.

Keep your cup full, my friends. You deserve it!

Cheers to a season of joy and balance!
